RookieCoach AFL

Overview

RookieCoach AFL is a YouTube channel built for the AFL Supercoach community — breaking down team selection, trade strategy, and round-by-round calls for fellow coaches trying to climb the rankings. As the channel puts it: "Follow the journey of a Rookie Coach exploring and playing the wonderful game of AFL SuperCoach."

The challenge

• Supercoach content lives and dies on timing — advice has to land before lockout, every single round
• A crowded field of other coaches making the same trade calls, so the content needs a reason to be the one people trust
• Balancing depth (the reasoning behind a call) against speed (getting it out before it's too late to act on)

The solution

Consistent, round-by-round content covering trades, captaincy calls, and price predictions — aimed at being useful first and entertaining second, so the channel earns a place in someone's pre-lockout routine.

What it covers:

• Round-by-round trade and captaincy breakdowns, timed to land before lockout
• Price change predictions and where the value is heading
• Team structure and strategy content for the season's bigger decisions

Result

A growing channel and community of coaches who come back week after week for the calls before lockout.
